The Mongol Rally is about making yourself and the world a better place

What is the Mongol Rally and why would three recent college graduates have any business participating in such an event? Well, the straightforward answer is that the rally is a road race in a very small car from England to Mongolia for charity… that’s roughly 10,000 miles, 20 countries, 5 mountain ranges, and 3 deserts all in six weeks! But, the better answer is that the Mongol Rally is known as “the greatest adventure on the planet” and is about making yourself and the world a better place.

Rally racers embark upon a journey which unlocks the culture and beauty of a third of the earth, much of it rarely seen by other Westerners. They interact with communities that date back thousands of years and also introduce their culture to people who do not have the opportunity to travel. When facing the prospect of a broken down car hundreds of miles from the nearest town with a cold desert night approaching, ralliers understand the universality of kindness when a stranger invites them to stay the night in his yurt. The Mongol Rally is not a race to the finish line, it is a journey to understand yourself, your companions, the people you meet, and what it means to be a world citizen and part of humanity.
